We are still getting married

We all want to meet the love of our life. And all of us, elated with love, joyfully march into the wedding embrace of love.

Only for rare lovers, marriage also means a marital yoke by restricting free life and socializing with friends, as husband and wife are supposed to be in the first place for each other.

We also reported marriages in Slovenia during the Covid-19 epidemic. Maybe also due to the limitation of meetings and visits based on the common address of permanent residence.

Thus, in 2020, when marriages were allowed, 5.214 couples got married. The average age of the groom was 36,5 years. The average age of the bride is 33,8 years. 4.313 couples entered into their first marriage.

In 2021, slightly more couples got married, namely 5.916. the average age of the groom at the time of marriage rose to 36,8 years. The average age of brides also rose to 34,3 years. 4.868 couples entered into their first marriage.

In 2022, as many as 6.768 couples got married. The average age of the groom rose again to 37,3 years. And also the age of the bride to 34,9 years. 5.572 couples entered into their first marriage.

However, love crowned with marriage also often has a short-term value. Love disappears or turns to hate or we meet another love. That's when we start thinking about how to end the marriage, or we decide to divorce.

Thus, in the years 2020/21/22, according to the same data from the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia, the number of divorces also increased. In 2020, 1.774 couples divorced. In 2021, 2.322 couples divorced. And in 2022, slightly fewer couples divorced, namely 2.149 couples. Thus, in the year when the Covid-19 epidemic subsided, the number of divorces also began to decline.
