EU support to Ukraine and refugees
Since February 2022, there has been a state of war in Ukraine due to the invasion of Russian military forces. Since the European Union (EU) condemned the attack on Ukraine and expressed its full support for Ukraine, 4.3 million Ukrainians have migrated to the territory of the EU to date, and there is no indication that a peaceful diplomatic solution to the conflict between Ukraine and the Russian Federation will be found. The 4,3 million Ukrainian refugees can also be compared with the slightly more than two million population of Slovenia to get a more vivid description of the wave of Ukrainian refugees. Due to the state of war in Ukraine, EU members have offered help in the form of temporary accommodation and international protection, including access to health services, social services and access to education and integration into the European labor market.
