Who is civilian

The waves of war are moving to the borders of the European Union (EU) and with it also crimes against the civilian population and increased migration flows of the so-called civilian population, which retreats from all the violence that comes with the state of war. And perhaps migration flows are helped by new military strategies that do not know the concept of a civilian population.

At the moment, the EU is mostly concerned with the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the recent incursion into Israeli territory. Especially with the latter, it is very difficult to define who actually attacked Israel. Were these really the groups of Hamas and Hezbollah, or are the countries and state leaders hiding behind them.

The question also arises as to who is still a prisoner of war and who is a civilian. Sometimes prisoners of war were only soldiers of the opposing military side. Then spies and, of course, their collaborators, associates, etc., were added to them. Nowadays, ordinary people, including children, are also among the prisoners of war, who are even taken to so-called enemy territory or, simply put, from their own territory, and the legal abduction of the civilian population is enforced.
I also hope that civilians, including children, are not subjected to interrogation, including torture. However, in both cases of war, they definitely became the subject of an exchange of prisoners of war.

Slowly, the practice is gaining ground that the aggressor, in order to release his soldiers and spies, simply kidnaps people who belong to the civilian population, including children, and thus this civilian population becomes a kind of hostage, a living wall that protects against shooting and, of course, the subject of exchange of detainees captured war figures or spies. No one, or very few, think about such actions that the civilian population has become a marketable commodity, or simply that such actions could also be considered human trafficking.
And of course the question arises, what is war and a state of war in the first place and, of course, where does a so-called military operation on foreign territory belong. And of course who is responsible for crimes against humanity. In both cases, paramilitary units are very often mentioned, which should definitely not be made up of soldiers of individual countries. And in both cases, we can see that they are supported by individual countries. And last but not least, we can note that, in fact, the entire civilian population of each country is treated as enemy military personnel, including children.
