Exporters and importers of human capital

Today, capital also includes people, despite all the industrialization and even the predicted robotization and even artificial intelligence. All over the European Union (EU) and even in North America, there is said to be a shortage of labor or, in other words, human capital in certain industries.

Some data on the worldometer confirm this. Europe had a negative population growth of -0.17%. In 2023, Europe counted just over 742 million people. As many as 792,167 migrants came to Europe with pleasure. Everything points to the fact that Europe is unable to motivate its inhabitants to increase the birth rate and has recapitalized its human capital through positive migration to Europe. And whether Europe needs human capital or not.

Data on North America show that positive increases in migration cannot be avoided. North America had a positive population growth of 0.54%. Nevertheless, it had 1,249,364 additional migrations. Their birth rate also has a coefficient of 1.6, which is higher than the European rate of 1.5.

The largest exporter of human capital was Asia with 1,487,191 migrants and a total population of 4,753,079,727. The annual growth of the Asian population is 0.64% and the birth rate is 1.9.

The second largest exporter of human capital was Africa, with a total of more than half a million people, or more precisely 535,151. Africa also had the highest fertility rate of 4.2 and 1,460,481,772 inhabitants.

The third largest exporter of human capital was Latin America and the Caribbean with 161,800 migrants. Latin America had a fertility rate of 1.8 and a population of 664,997,121.

Data on the number of inhabitants are from 2023.

Africa had also the largest population increase of 2.37%. Africa (+33,745,467), Asia (+30,444,963), Latin America and the Caribbean (+4,728,047) and North America (2,033,711) and Oceania (+537,216) followed. Europe is not the only one that is plagued by the state of war and the foci of the pre-war state, and yet it is the only one that had a net negative increase in the total number of -1,283,113 inhabitants. Europe is also the only one with negative annual population growth.
