Intolerance towards migrants or the economic crisis

Demonstrations have risen again against migrants, especially illegal ones, who subsequently apply for international protection after illegally crossing the state or Schengen borders of the EU. Of course, interpretations of the protection of migrants' rights are different. For most countries on a global scale, illegal border crossing is considered a crime. And here migrants who state that they are at risk in other countries and, of course, often also citizens of countries outside the alliances, should not be an exception. Most countries rely not only on a professional army to defend the country, but also on the military mobilization of their citizens in the event of a greater threat of war. In many countries, the duty to defend one's country is also among the constitutionally defined duties of their citizens. Slovenia also has this duty of its citizens enshrined in its constitutional Constitution, as the highest legal act of Slovenia. This is how the rights and duties of citize...

Migrants also flooded

Slovenia is a very "lucky" country. In 2022, almost the entire Karst landscape was on fire. In 2023, there were catastrophic floods in Slovenia. And of course, the number of unauthorized entries into Slovenia also increased in 2023. In fact, we also got a flood of illegal migration. Namely, in 2023 there were 84,1% more unauthorized entries into Slovenia. In 2022, there were 31.605 such unauthorized entries. In 2023, as many as 58.193. The largest number of unauthorized entries into Slovenia came from Afghanistan (30.6%), Morocco (15.2%) and Pakistan (8.9%), Russia and Bangladesh. With these data, I should mention that Celje, the third largest city in Slovenia, had 49.069 inhabitants in 2020. Or a better comparison is with Maribor, which had a population of 96.302 in 2022 and is the second largest city in Slovenia. And I don't think we can take solace in the fact that the capital city of Ljubljana has a much larger population of 293.218 than the number of migrants who cro...

Would we dig trenches again

We are already looking at the sky again and fearing the accumulation of clouds and of course what will fall from the sky. Human has not controlled nature since prehistoric times. This means that we do not create clouds, rain, storms, winds, swollen rivers, torrents, raging seas, etc. And of course, that's why, in the face of such natural phenomena, we still only have a preventive retreat to safety. There used to be ditches along the road, where excess water from the roadway flowed. We used to know torrential ravines, so that the water did not stagnate in the hill. And we used to know the fluctuating water level of the river depending on the natural rainfall. That's why sometimes we didn't build along the rivers, even though we also knew how to use the water flow of the river with water mills. Sometimes they even believed that rivers that overflowed their banks in autumn or spring fertilized the fields along the river with silt. Sometimes we even collected rainwater, which d...
